We assess the donor bike before choosing the rear-end approach. Wheel track, finished ride height, suspension, braking, reverse and bodywork all affect whether the completed trike still feels coherent rather than simply wider.
Tell us whether the build is for everyday riding, touring, a passenger or improved low-speed confidence. If mobility is part of the reason for converting, say so early — controls, mounting and rider access are easier to solve when they are part of the original brief.
